The Munster String Quartet was founded in 2013 by well known and respected Cork based violinist and pianist, Mary McCague. The Quartet is a collective of professional freelance musicians, spear headed by Mary. There are a number of elements that set MSQ apart from other ensembles:-

- MSQ perform quality arrangements, specifically written for string quartet
- MSQ has arguably the most extensive repertoire of pop and rock classics
- MSQ is happy to cater for special requests (where possible), and will source quality, effective arrangements that are suitable for string players, unlike many other quartets who will simply download piano scores to play from, where the musicians are essentially busking!
- MSQ will work with you to curate the perfect soundtrack to your special day
- MSQ offers excellent flexibility, with Solo, Duo, Trio and full Quartet options. There is also an option for Electric Violin with Backing Tracks. You can even include Flute or Piano, and we are happy to work with singers. We have a list of highly recommended singers whom we regularly work, but are happy to facilitate a singer of your choice also.
